The Center aims at managing acute and chronic pain. It deals with pain relief for cancer patients, as well as with non cancer patients who are nonetheless in pain whatever the cause, such as:
- Neuropathic pain
i.e. Diabetic polyneuropathy, metherpetic neuralgia, peripheral and central nervous system lesions and trauma pain, paraplegic patient pain, post-stroke pain, pain owing to Parkinson’s disease, post-mastectomy pain, sternotomy, thoracotomy, mutilation, HIV/AIDS-patients pain.
- Chronic pain
i.e. Osteoporosis, multiple osteoarthritis pain and spinal pain without indication of need for surgery or even pain not responsive to standard medical treatment, headache, musculoperitoneal pain and pain from fibromyalgia.
Management is either conservative or invasive, depending on symptoms and indications and always in line with the latest developments worldwide.

The Center for Pain Management is staffed by anesthesiologists specialized in pain management techniques, who work with all the disciplined required, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, orthopaedics, neurosurgeons and invasive radiologists.
