Center for Pain Management

An increasing number of patients are turning to clinicians of various specialties in an effort to find solutions to persistent pain symptoms, which in many cases are complex and difficult to deal with or to treat.

Pain Management Departments operate in selected hospitals and consist of medical and nursing staff who are specialized in pain management techniques.

The Center for Pain Management of Mediterraneo Hospital has treated many patients suffering from osteoarthritis, neck pain, headaches, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, algodystrophy, tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis) and, of course, cancer pain.

The Pain Clinic is equipped with:

  • an electroacupuncture device. Electroacupuncture is applied for the stimulation of certain areas responsible for the patient’s disorder. The needles are connected to the device with a specific frequency. Depending on the frequency of the current used in electroacupuncture, various substances are produced according to the treatment plan.
Electroacupuncture is also used for smoking cessation, weight loss, infertility and stress – psychosomatic disorders.
  • an O3 Ozone Generator. Ozone therapy can be used for many conditions such as chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, colitis, allergies, multiple sclerosis, tendonitis, back pain, sciatica, gonalgia, postherpetic neuralgia. The treatment is carried out either by intravenous autotransfusion or local application of ozone, depending on the condition.

Furthermore, for patients unable to come to the hospital to receive treatment, providing at-home pain management services, supported by specialized nurses, is also an option. The anesthesiologist visits the patient at their home, assesses the level of pain and, in collaboration with nurses, monitors the treatment regimen for as long as necessary. The at-home pain management service is prescribed by EOPYY, so the cost for the patient is considerably low.

“I felt safe and I could rely on you. An excellent hospital!”
